Title: Left scarred
by Only One from London | in writing, poetry
What is glorious?
War?
No.
War is not glorious.
Glorious is not war.
War had begun when you left the safety of the front door.
Woken in a cold sweat.
You dream.
You see the faces.
You see their faces.
The faces you see are those of whom you have slaughtered.
They will come.
And slaughter YOU.
But mentally.
Mentally.
You and your surviving regiment
WILL see the slaughtered faces.
And they WILL haunt you
What is glorious?
War?
No
War is not glorious
Glorious is not war
War hasn't ended when you're back through the front door.
