Title: Walking In Sleep

by Tarah | in writing, poetry

Mountains and hillsides lay in the far west, you can see the moon shining over there, looking up at the stars in the east, what is it that makes you just want to stay there? In the south you see the sun still fading, in the north the clouds have completely gone, now what to do there is nothing to see, the darkness and shadows have come over you,

So down the hill you go into the night, waking the owls and the insects in flight, quietly you make your way into your bed, never a sound overhead, can you see the moon now? If out the window you can, looking up you see the shadow of a man, frightened you freeze like a statue in a square, but no it is just the man in the moon staring back at you from up there,

So closing your eyes, swiftly to sleep, not wakening once from your dream, could it be this was real you saw this all in one night, or did your dreams take you far in flight? No it can't be the dreams don't do that, so I am guessing now is that this happened at night, and away you had walked in sleeping splendor, to cross the fields and looking thither you saw everything and awakened you did to see you had just fallen asleep in a field!
