Title: Wind, fire, water and earth

by Samantha from Northern Ireland | in writing, poetry

Blustering through the valley,
Leaves being blown up all around me.
A light breeze weaving through my fingers,
The howls of the wind during the night.
As it crashes up against the trees.
Thoughts trembling like the dead leaves,
Being blown and dancing like the living.
As cold as ice brushing against my face,
Numbing my skin.

A herd of smoke filling the room,
It stays still, showing its flickering beauty.
Being watched from a distance,
It will burn if you get too close.
The soothing crackling from the flames,
From the minute you light it until it dies out.
As the ash falls from the flames to the ground.
The room starts to get darker and darker.
The fire goes out and the room is in total darkness.

The ripples moving forwards and back.
The waves dropping to the ground,
Making a very soothing sound.
So still and calm,
Yet so noisy and stormy.
Crashing up against the cliffs.
Bots bobbing up and down.
Very relaxing.
Cannot be controlled.

Trees swaying,
Earth decomposing,
New trees growing,
Old trees dying.
Mashed up soil under my feet,
Rain falling from above,
Wind sweeping me off my feet.
