Title: Guided by the moonlight

by Richard from Worcestershire | in writing, poetry

Running through the dark wood
Ironic how it had all been so clear before
The only light that now shone brightly was the moon
It hung high in the sky
Speaking of how it could let me return to the sunlight again

But I did not follow the moon I followed the person in front
Just as they followed the person in front of them

Tripping and toppling the denser the woods became
We did not care
Just as long as the promises flowed down over my ears
I would do anything
Give away money
Not shop there
Smash their windows
Invade a foreign land

Now my eyes have opened
Now death to the moons eternal loop
Now seeing where I really am
I wish I had not voted
Not followed the crowed
Not listened to the forked tongue
Which so easily poisoned my mind

Now there is no hope left for me
Entangled in this confusing wood
But it's not my fault is it?
Last time I listen to politics.
