Mysterious shapes bewilder
The painted azure, patterns on
The deep, nonchalant horizon.
A simple pleasure, born out of our
Tranquillity, is reduced to less
Than nothingness, more than hopefulness,
Better than idleness. And
Though a romantic delight, clouds
Can only be broken and torn
By mankind, disrupting the natural beauty.
A swirling twist of tame desire
Uproots her from security,
And casts them into destiny.
Though only simple seconds away
From lust's sweet capture, her mind awakes
With the scent of clarity,
The salts of transparency,
And suddenly she is content
With past failures, happy, at ease,
Comfortable with the unknown.
In my opinion, one of the most inspirational, and one of my favourite songs - ""Both Sides Now"" by Joni Mitchell - has a song structure of Clouds, Love, Life. I have taken the first two as inspiration for themes for each stanza. Clouds are so familiar, and almost taken for granted, and relate so much to Love. I hope to add a final stanza, with a theme of Life, to ""Delight"" at some point. (Please Note: ""Delight"" is only a temporary title, I never usually name my work, and so I think this fits for now.)
