Title: Laughing on the other side
by Der J | in writing, poetry
I wish I'd been the first
To break the ice,
And see release; hear the water burst'
And take a slice.
I watched: waited as I saw it melt
And stood stock still at the side
And felt?
If only, if only I could dance
Forever on that water's face
Not take the chance
Of snowflakes falling in sharp haste
And turning deathly white
Under that solid steel sheet
Sensing cold's bitter bite
And watching other people's prancing feet.
