My inspiration came from many mexican themes. The triangular shapes on the bottom of the dress represented the many mountains in the mexican landscape. The embroidary on the bag and dress came from the traditional mexican dress. I also added a sach and ruffled sleves which are presents on many mexican dresses. The dress is made from a fine linen, which I thought would be good for such a hot climate. I decided to add small gold pom-poms along the hem as they are present on most tradtional bull-fighting costumes. I also looked at the work of Mathew Williamson, I used his ideas of fine, detailed embroidery and use of beads and sequins. Many other designers developed the use of metalics into their designs. Alot of designs use deep colurs of violet and purple, so I also developed this into my design.
