Mexican Poncho Inspired Dress

Predominantly my inspiration came from the Mexican poncho and Aztec jewel hues. I attempted to make the poncho a more glamourous garment, by using metallic, heavily pleated satin for the main body of the dress and through the use of accessories- like the satin turban, to give a more chic and retro look. As the dress is shapeless, I made it more feminine & sexy by giving glimpses of bare skin- the back and forearm.Jewels and rhinestones are used to give a subtle shimmer and act as a form of decoration overall.
