I scampered through endless books and Internet pages to find inspiration for my design. It was only until I opened the alluring pages of a Mexican pattern book that I saw intricate and detailed patterns jump out at me and fill my head with ideas. I researched Mexican culture and began to learn about their fruity lifestyles and fashion within Mexico. Another criteria I had to research was Matthew Williamson's style and his outlook on designing. I looked at many of his designs and I saw one that I particularly liked (top right) this gave me an idea of what he likes and the things he would love to see in a dress. "What's up with all those crazy colours bundled together?" I hear you cry! Well, I thought I'd bedazzle you by incorporating many sizzling colour schemes to bring fire to my design. Bright, wonderful and fierce was my goal and i can gladly say I have achieved that :) After researching Mexican patterns I succumbed to the way in which they all had a certain quirkiness and edgy feel to them. I thought I wouldn't do the expected frills and frolicking but instead, the unexpected distinctive patterns and swirls.
