Performance poetry, multi-cultural dance performances and clown workshops; The Glasshouse in Stourbridge has a variety of events in February and March 2008.

Things That Can't Be Said is where performance poetry meets theatre.

Shabina Aslam, director of spoken-word, theatre and radio drama, works with five eclectic spoken word artists from the region to create a production about things that can't be said.

The artists perform an ensemble of stories using music, movement and sound, creating a visual tapestry of love, life and relationships.

Things That Can't Be Said is co-produced by Resolve - a consortium of the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton, the MAC in Birmingham and Black Country Touring.听

Resolve works to create more theatre with Asian, Black, Chinese and more recent immigrant communities and refugee status artists resident in the West Midlands.

Lorca Simons and Adrian Brett perform a play based on movements that explore the relationship between water and goodbyes.

Lorca grew up in a theatre created by her parents in Texas and has performed on stage and screen throughout the US and Canada. She is a founding member of 5RT, an experimental theatre company revolutionising ritual theatre through the Gabrielle Roth's Five Rhythms Maps.

Adrian trained in speech and drama in Sydney, Australia before coming to Europe in 1987. He is co-founder of the Taurus Voice Theatre Company with whom he has peformed since 2000.

The Fool Effect clowns will be taking stories from the daily news and local personal sources offered by the audience on the night, re-interpreting them with the clowns' playfulness, irreverence and insight.

The Fool Effect have been developing their improvised shows for more than a year and have all been trained in the Nose To Nose style of clowning.

They bring with them a wealth of experience which includes: touring theatre; new circus; story telling; puppetry: mime and physical theatre.

Working with warm ups, theatre games and short improvisations, the focus is on spontaneity, authenticity and not taking yourself too seriously.

This is an initiation into the art of being ridiculous; an introduction into the Noe To Nose style of working where your clown will be uniquely your own. No previous experience in clowning or theatre is necessary.

Skin is a synergy of media, dance and movement featuring six dancers.

This double bill has an original sound score, percussive soundscapes, digital projection and emotive live effects.

Skin draws from particular elements of African, Caribbean and Japanese dance styles, combining them with contemporary movement.

Artistic Director Gail Parmel works in collaboration with choreographers Akiko Kitamura from the Leni-Basso Dance Company of Japan and Vincent Mantsoe from Soweto, South Africa.
