Description
St Abb鈥檚 Head is a national nature reserve in the Scottish Borders that plays host to a rich variety of wildlife, such as sea birds. The cliffs were formed by being pushed up out of the sea, at the same time the continents of America and Europe were joined together.
Classroom Ideas
After watching the clip, students could discuss why we have nature reserves. They could go on to discuss the wildlife that is found at St Abb鈥檚 Head nature reserve, and why its environment is good for them. Students could find other nature reserves in the United Kingdom and compare them to St Abb鈥檚, considering the features of the land, and the plants and animals found there.
