DNA carries the genetic information in the cells of all living organisms. Genes contain codes for the assembly of amino acids into all the proteins required in the body.
Therapeutic use of cells
Genetic engineering is the transfer of DNA between organisms. Bacteria receiving human DNA can produce proteins such as insulin. Stem cells can potentially develop into specialised body parts.
