Make your journey more sensory. Try using any of these items while watching. Don鈥檛 worry if you don鈥檛 have everything or there are things you don鈥檛 want to include. Make your sensory journey one you will enjoy.
- Say hello: Look at yourself in a mirror
- Touch: Heat packs for the rocket
- Smell: Metallic smells, a bag of coins
- Taste: Meringues nests for space food
- See: fairy lights, kaleidoscopes, star night projector, Bubbles
- Sound: Countdown clock, velcro straps
Three, two, one, lift off
The rocket is fuelled, packed, and prepped for flight. Ready? Ignition. Hold on tight.
Let's get active
- Parachute, try counting down while flapping the parachute and then release
- Vibrating cushions or chairs
- Carousel Chair so you can spin
- Countdown clocks will build anticipation
Things are starting to float
As the atmosphere breaks and the Earth left behind. It is time to explore, but it is not gravity that you will find.

- Balloons (Helium, if possible, to simulate weightlessness)
Stepping out into outer space

The Moon is orbiting around us
I see the moon glowing bright as it orbits the earth. Gather moonstones and moondust to find what they are worth.

- 鈥橰ocks鈥 - balled up tinfoil or gems hidden in sand to find. Who will find the most?
The stars in space
A billion stars flicker their bright, distant, light. With your telescope in hand, you can see them at night.

- Fairy lights

- Black out tents, curtains, and sheets
- Kitchen roll tubes can make a fun telescope
There are eight planets in our Solar System
Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter, Mars, there are many planets amongst the stars. Some have gas, some have ice, some are bigger than ours. They all spin and are round like a ball. In our Solar System, how many planets in all?

The sun is bright and hot
The sun in the sky is a great, burning ball. It is huge and bright and hot most of all.
