After jouer 脿 and faire de, you need to use a (the word 鈥榯he鈥). In French, 鈥巘here are four different ways of saying 鈥榯he鈥, depending on whether a noun is masculine, 鈥巉eminine or plural, or if it starts with a vowel or silent 鈥榟鈥. The words for 鈥榯he鈥 change 鈥巃fter and de as follows:鈥

MasculineFeminineBefore a vowel or silent 鈥庘'h'鈥Plural
Definite article 鈥庘('the')鈥lelal'les
