Makeda is trying to describe to Rapper what would make the perfect track, but to do that she needs some adjectives and conjunctions.
Makeda: It's like um-cha-um-cha-um-cha da-da.
Rapper: Oh, like da-da-da badaba.
Makeda: Ugh, ja? Ich h枚re es schon鈥 I can hear it! Es ist es ist sehr Mm!
Rapper: You need adjectives, they're describing words, and maybe some conjunctions, they're connecting words.
Makeda: Adjectives and conjunctions, eh? Good idea. Eh, ich sehe es jetzt schon! I can see it now! Das Lied ist sch枚n, es ist spannend, es ist toll, es ist鈥
Rapper: Ja, aber warum?
Makeda: Huh?
Rapper: Na ja, warum ist es sch枚n, warum ist es toll? Why is it great? I think you need to add in some conjunctions. like鈥 'because', 'although', 'and', and 'but'. In German that would be 'weil', 'obwohl', 'und' and 'aber'.
Makeda: Warum? Why? Er鈥 Es hat einen guten Takt. Es ist langsam, dann ganz schnell. Es ist ganz laut, es ist dann leise Eh, es macht gl cklich. Es ist ein tolles Lied, it's a great song. Das passt perfekt. Es ist das Beste. Was denkst du?
Rapper: Mmm, I still think you need to add in some conjunctions, some connecting words. Ich mag es und ich freue mich darauf, weil es stimmungsvoll ist.
Makeda: Stimmungsvoll?
Rapper: Oh鈥 it means 'atmospheric'.
Makeda: Ah鈥
Rapper: Aber wir brauchen ein Video鈥 obwohl das Lied noch nicht existiert!
Makeda: So what should we do then? What would make the perfect track?
Rapper: Hm. Obwohl es traurig macht, du lachst noch Tag und Nacht. Und ich sp眉re keinen Schmerz, weil es so mein Herz erw盲rmt.
Makeda: So, although it makes you sad, you laugh day and night. And I don't feel any pain, because it warms my heart?
Rapper: Ich mag ein Lied mit Gesang, aber es ist nie zu lang. Es hat einen tollen Klang, und ich habe dann den Drang, es zu h枚ren.
Makeda: Weil es macht gl眉cklich?
Rapper: Weil es gl眉cklich macht.
Makeda: So you said before, I like a song with lyrics, But it's never too long, It has an awesome tone, and then you have the drive to listen to it, because it makes you happy. 'Und' and 'aber' have a normal word order. With 'obwohl' and 'weil', different word order style. They send the verb to the end of the sentence? But why?
Rapper: Um, 'Obwohl' and 'weil' are subordinating conjunctions, magic words.
Makeda: Haha! Cute. And 'aber' and 'und' don't change anything?
Rapper: Ganz genau! Du machst das beste Lied, weil du die beste DJ bist, Cuz. So the song could be something like this: Sie ist meine Stadt, und sie hei脽t Berlin. Ich liebe die Musik, obwohl es kalt ist. Oh, uh, Makeda, wir m眉ssen gehen. Es gibt Abendessen.
Makeda: Wir m眉ssen gleich gehen, weil es Abendessen gibt!
