Building the pyramids (pt 1/5)
Description
Using writing, objects, tools and drawings, archaeologists are able to piece together the story of the Ancient Egyptians. Here we meet an Egyptian who was summoned to leave his family when he was very young to go and work in the desert building the pyramids.
Classroom Ideas
Before watching this clip, students could list everything they already know about Egypt and the Egyptians. These facts, ideas and experiences could be organised onto a large mind map for the wall or completed individually. Additional questions which students would like to find the answers to, could also be included.
Students could then view the clip and add any new information to their mind map. Information could continue to be added throughout their study of the Egyptians.
