The Northern Ireland Trading Standards Service provides the following services:

• Weights and measures - they make sure that the food we buy by weight or volume is measured accurately
• Pricing - they make sure the price is displayed (including the unit price of pre-packed goods in fixed quantities). It is illegal for retailers to mislead consumers in relation to pricing
• False or misleading descriptions - they make sure that our food or food-related services are accurately described
