- Democracy in the UK
Section two: Social Issues in the United Kingdom
You will have studied either:
- Social Inequality
- Crime and the Law

Section structure
Within each topic you will have four questions.
Three will be Knowledge and Understanding questions, when you will be expected to have remembered the answer. One will be assessing your Evaluation Skills, when you will be expected to find the answers from within the sources.
Knowledge and Understanding questions make up the majority of the paper and are worth 50 marks while the Skills questions are worth 30 marks.
You should ensure you follow the instructions in the question. If the question asks for no more than three reasons then you should not give any more than three reasons. The marker is looking for you to make fewer points with more description, explanation, analysis and examples.
Remember: Make sure you have a watch. You have to answer 80 marks worth of questions in 140 minutes. Make sure you answer all the questions. It is better to make an attempt at all of the questions rather than write too much for a fewer number of questions you may already have achieved full marks in.
