Statistical information can be presented in diagrams, graphs and charts. The type you use will largely depend on the sort of data that you want to present.
It is important a graph is useful and information can be clearly taken from it.
Use of scales on graph axes
The scale on the left graph is inappropriate. The numbers go up higher than necessary on both axes. This means the points are squashed into a small part of the graph area and are difficult to read accurately.
The scale on the right graph suits the information with the points filling the whole of the sheet making it clearer to read.
In this graph the intervals on the bottom axis are unequal, making it difficult to read.
Scales should either start at zero, or be concertinaed (squashed) as shown in the y-axis in the above graph.
