Being able to deliver a presentation confidently involves a lot of preparation beforehand. To make a good impression, you should plan, research, organise and practise your presentation.

How to begin the presentation

Introduce yourself briefly at the beginning of the presentation, giving a few facts about yourself.

Here is an introduction Alex has prepared for his presentation.

Exercise

Prepare a short piece to introduce yourself.

After you have introduced yourself, tell the audience what you are going to speak about.

Here are some examples:

  • Y prynhawn yma, dw i eisiau siarad am … achos dw i’n mwynhau … – This afternoon, I want to talk about … because I enjoy …
  • Heddiw, dw i’n mynd i siarad am … achos … – Today I’m going to talk about … because …
  • Hoffwn i siarad am … achos … – I would like to talk about … because …
  • Dw i wedi penderfynu siarad am … achos … – I’ve decided to talk about … because …
