A weather circle provides five pieces of information about the weather in a location:

• temperature
• precipitation
• wind speed
• wind direction
• cloud coverage

They display information observed from many different weather stations, aeroplanes, balloons and satellites. The information is put into categories as shown in the table with symbols used to show the different types of weather.
