Climate
As you can see from the climate graph, plants and animals in the desert have to cope with very little water.
Hot deserts have two distinct seasons:
- summer - when the temperature ranges between 35-40掳C
- winter - when the temperature ranges between 20-30掳C

The climate is very hot. Summer day time temperatures can exceed 40掳C. However, at night the temperature can drop below 0掳C.
The climate is very dry with less than 250 mm of rainfall a year. There is also a big variation in temperature between day and night.
