Scottish instrumental and vocal music is an essential part of Scottish culture and is associated with dancing and storytelling. Much of Scottish traditional music remains unchanged to this day.
The Scottish band Breabach combines traditional instruments, singing and dancing. The music in this clip can be identified as Scottish by the choice of instruments (Highland bagpipe and flute) and the fact the band are playing Scottish dance music (march, strathspey and reel). The rhythmic features used (Scotch snap and grace notes) are also commonly found in Scottish music.
