Discussing your hopes for the future

Read the following quotations, where three people express their hopes for the future.

Bethan, 16 oed

Ar ôl blwyddyn un ar ddeg, hoffwn i fynd i’r chweched dosbarth. Hoffwn i astudio Mathemateg, Bioleg, Hanes a Ffrangeg. Wedyn, hoffwn i fynd i’r i astudio Hanes achos hoffwn i fod yn athrawes Hanes.

Gethin, 21 oed

Ar ôl gorffen yn y brifysgol, hoffwn i gael swydd mewn banc yn Llundain. Hoffwn i weithio mewn mawr – ddiddorol iawn.

Aisha, 17 oed

Dw i’n astudio Technoleg Gwybodaeth, Ffiseg a Bagloriaeth Cymru yn y coleg. Y flwyddyn nesaf, hoffwn i gael mewn busnes ble gallwn i ddysgu mwy am fusnes ac mwy o . Basai’n iawn.

Answer the following questions based on what Bethan, Gethin and Aisha have said about their future hopes:

  2. Beth hoffai hi astudio?
  3. Ble hoffai Gethin weithio ar ôl gadael y brifysgol?
  4. Hoffai Aisha fynd i’r brifysgol y flwyddyn nesaf?
  5. Beth allai hi ddysgu mewn prentisiaeth?

Think of five questions you would ask someone about their future? Look at Writing to ask for information for more information. Try to vary the expressions you use. You could ask about future courses, taking a year out, travelling, jobs and so on.
