Harry: I'm Harry.
Emily: I'm Emily.
Harry and Emily: And we're going to write a song about football.
*Narrator: You can write a song about whatever you like, and lots of songs have been written about football.
Emily: Yay!
*Narrator: This is Nigel. He makes music, and he has come along to help Emily and Harry write their football song.
Nigel: What do each of you love about football?
Harry: I like, like, going in goals, and scoring all of them.
Nigel: What's the feeling when you score a goal? What's it like?
Emily: Well, we feel really happy. Because, like, if we are in the lead, and we've won, I'd feel really bad for the other team.
Nigel: Yeah. So what do we have to do to write a song?
Harry: Rhyme?
Nigel: So, yeah, we have to rhyme. Yeah, we have to rhyme. Do you know what a rhyme is?
Emily: It's two words that sound the same.
Nigel: That's right.
*Narrator: Nigel's got an idea to get things started. Let鈥檚 see what Emily and Harry make of it.
Nigel: What's it like to score a goal? In front of a crowd?
Nigel: Hmm, what goes with 鈥榗rowd鈥?
Emily: Maybe loud?
Emily: Loud.
Nigel: Loud crowd, that's it. OK, let's try that.
Nigel: To hear your name and your team. Sang out really loud.
Nigel: There you go, we got it in. And now we need a chorus, something really catchy.
*Narrator: A chorus is the part of a song which is repeated, and is often when everyone joins in, so it needs to be really fun to sing along with. Harry and Emily get busy writing their chorus.
Harry and Emily: Go, go, go and score a goal.
Nigel: Yeah, that'll do. That's quite a good start, isn't it? Yeah. Shall we try that?
Nigel, Emily and Harry: Go, go, go, and score a goal.
*Narrator: Oh, sounding great! Now Harry and Emily have written their football song, it's time to hear it in action, and here are some mates to help them.
Nigel: What's it like to score a goal in front of a crowd?
Nigel: To hear your name and your team sang out really loud?
Nigel: We've had a dream since we were small,
Nigel: We will always love football.
All: Go, go, go, and score a goal
All: Come on, team, before the whistle blows
All: Go, go, go, we can do it if we believe.
*Narrator: Fantastic job, Harry and Emily! Maybe you could write a song about something you love.
