Spotting Fake News (00:12)
With lots of different types of news fed to us daily, it can be difficult to determine which stories to believe and which to ignore. One of the quickest ways to verify news on your feed, is to check what the source is. Is it from a news website or news company you recognise? Do they got a good track record of publishing verified and true news stories in the past? If you don鈥檛 recognise the website, try searching the news story on a search engine, to see if other trusted sources you recognise, such as the 成人快手, have also reported on the story.
Echo Chambers (03:06)
Searching for the same thing on your phone as someone else, can often bring up different results. This is because of social media and search engine algorithms, which take into consideration your previous searches, likes and follows, when forming your search result. This gives you a more personalised set of results, but can also mean you are mainly only seeing content that is part of your Echo Chamber (where you encounter information and opinions that reflect your own).
