Reverend Jesse Jackson was the keynote speaker at the annual Equanomics UK Convention, which was held at the Mount Zion Church in Aston on Sunday 30th November 2008.

Jesse Jackson's trip coincides with the recent historical American election where Barack Obama was elected the first black US president.

One of the most memorable images, following Obama's victory on 4 November, was of Jackson moved to tears after years campaigning for black civil rights in the United States.

In an interview on the 成人快手 WM Andrew Peach Sunday morning show on the 30th November 2008, Rev Jesse Jackson spoke about the Obama win and his lifelong work in advocating equality and justice.

鈥淲e have fought so long for freedom which we have achieved - but freedom is a prerequisite to fight for opportunity and equality of access to health care, education and to overcome crippling poverty,鈥� said Rev Jesse Jackson.

"We must defend the poor, help the needy and those that are abandoned. This is a moral dimension of our struggle to be a better people.

"Barack Obamba鈥檚 victory was a great due for America, it says a lot about his own ability and diligent work and it also says a lot about those who paid the price to knock down the walls i.e Dr Luther King and Nelson Mandela.

"His victory is a redemptive factor for America and the world.鈥�
