He's been added to the 'Walk of Stars' in Birmingham. Comedian Jasper Carrott has been honoured on Birmingham's Hollywood-style Walk of Stars. Jasper and the Lord Mayor He was given the award by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham on the main stage in Centenary Square, as part of Saturday evening's ArtsFest entertainment. The square was packed with Jasper's fans and he made it clear he was honoured and grateful. He said: "I'm incredibly honoured and very humbled." He also said how proud he is of being a Brummie. Jasper Carrott with his star "We live in the greatest city in the world." Although Jasper Carrott, who's 62, has had many hits as a comedian over the years, he's always kept his roots. "This is the city I was born in. I live 10 miles away from where I was born." His star will eventually be set in concrete on Broad Street. Star He's now the second celebrity to be honoured on Birmingham's Walk of Stars. In July Ozzy Osbourne (originally from Aston) became the first person to be honoured. And yes, Jasper couldn't help but make a joke about that. Organisers have named a further 11 "most wanted" stars for the walk - they include Lenny Henry and Frank Skinner, TV presenter Cat Deeley, pop stars Duran Duran, Jamelia, Robert Plant and UB40, racing driver Nigel Mansell, conductor Sir Simon Rattle and actress Julie Walters.
