Now in its third year, the 成人快手 Midlands Today School of Rock competition aims to find the best young band in the Midlands. Groups from around the area sent in their demo tapes and it's come down to six finalists, two of whom are from Birmingham!

You'll be able to vote for your favourite band when the lines open at 7pm on Friday 25th May 2007. The winner will be announced live on 成人快手 WM from 9pm on Monday 1st June 2007 and will get a chance to cut a professional demo, shoot a video and perform live at the Rock and Pop Festival at the NEC in July. Merky Movements are a group of four MCs from Handsworth - K Man, Skittles, Triple B and Slim. A hip-hop based group, the boys are now all nearly 18, but have been together since Year 8 at school. They've entered their song 'Summertime' for School of Rock and you can find out more about them at www.myspace.com/merkymovements Zombies of Ska - to vote call: 09015 223 001 A five-piece punk-ska band from Solihull, Zombies of Ska say they've been influenced by the likes of Streetlight, Manifesto, Capdown and Farse.
