So says Murdoch, one of the fastest rising indie bands to come out of Birmingham in years. The five piece rock set released their debut mini-album Factory 13 in January 2006 to great success, paving the way for even more exposure. "It sold out. Through that we got a lot of shows and recognition from the likes of Noel Gallagher. It led to a gig in Serbia." The response also led to a one of the album's songs - Behind These Trojan Walls - being chosen by Birmingham City Council to act as the soundtrack for a short-film that they produced to promote the city.

Murdoch are currently in the midst of recording their next album, due out later this year: "It's going to be a bit harder edged with bigger sounding songs. That's the order of the day at the moment - make them sound massive!" The lads have a promising future, with their sights set on the festival scene and continuing to play as many gigs as possible. See them next in Birmingham at The Roadhouse on 30th April 2007. In the meantime, click the link above to hear our exclusive interview with Murdoch. |
