Cycle track for youth centre approved

Plans for a new cycle track at a youth centre in Bradford have been approved by planners.
The curved track will help 鈥渞aise aspirations through sport鈥 in the area, Bradford Council said.
It will be located on land behind the Springfield Community Centre on Idlethorpe Way.
Bradford Council said it wants to promote 鈥渉ealthy lifestyles through opportunities for exercise鈥.
One resident had objected to the project, saying the new sports facility might cause anti-social behaviour, according to the.
However, planners said: 鈥淭here is no evidence to suggest that the cycle track would create more anti-social behaviour."
They added: 鈥淭he proposal will secure a sport related scheme which will support the Youth Centre and the wider community.
鈥淭he Council recognises the importance of sport and recreation and the contribution these make to healthy lifestyles through opportunities for exercise.鈥
