People in the Bailiwick of Guernsey are being urged to recreate well-known local building using Lego bricks.

Islanders can take part in the Brick Bailiwick Challenge, which could see their creation on display in Guernsey Museum.

It has been inspired by an exhibition at the museum called Brick City, which showcases more than 25 model buildings from cities around the world.

There are also prizes to be won for those who enter, organisers said.

Islanders can email a photograph of their model to Guernsey Museum before the deadline on 31 May.

The head of Heritage Services Helen Glencross said: "It’s really exciting to see what Bailiwick models will be made by children or adults and, as we have a showcase available in a few weeks’ time, we would love to display some of them here at the museum."

The idea is organised in partnership with Island Families, a community group based in Guernsey.
