Episode 44

The girls arrive on North Uist in Lochmaddy. Marsaili is thirsty after the sailing from Uig. She has also heard that there is an Arts Centre nearby, Taigh Chearsabhagh. Although she is really looking forward to a refreshing pot of tea, she also wants to go to a great local exhibition. She may even find creative inspiration there.

Sìleas, on the other hand, has been gripped by the name Lochmaddy, or Loch nam Madadh, in Gaelic. It literally means Loch of the Wolves. Sìleas's imagination is muddied with a thousand questions. How on Earth did any place get a name like that? Where did the place name come from? Why do wolves need a loch? What did the wolves do in the loch? The most terrifying question of all: are there any wolves left? She must research this name and come up with answers to all her questions.
