This clock originates from the UK, but was taken out to the States by the employer of the contributor's great aunt, where it survived the San Francisco earthquake in 1906. The great aunt went on to become a companion to this lady, and was later given the clock. The clock represents the most ornate decoration of the late Victorian period, and is still in its leather and satin lined box.
