The box originated from 1920s and contained 'Imperial Dominoes'. The dominoes inside the box were acquired later. Dominoes have been a popular pass time throughout the 20th century and these have been in the family for around 70 years. The oldest domino sets date from 1120 AD, and are named after the white, black spotted masks, the domini, of the Venice Carnival.
