This limestone slab was found at Koptos by the eminent archaeologist Flinders-Petrie. Found on the floor of the temple of Min, it depicts King Senusret I holding a hetep-sceptre (a symbol of power) with an oar; and the god Min who is associated with fertility and agriculture. The inscription reads, "Taking the oar to Min, the great one who is in the midst of our city." The scene is part of the Sed festival that celebrates kingship and renews the king's divine powers.
