This armour comprises a dagger, a shield, an arm shield and a helmet. It is embossed with exquisite carving. It was bought by the contributor's grandfather in Basra in 1911, when the Indian Army landed and the Turks had fled. The armour dates from 1840-1860, the Qajar period, when Iran underwent many wars with Imperial Russia, which resulted in Iran losing much territory to Russia and the British Empire.
