This is from the dawn of civilisation in Britain when stone tools, some of increadable beauty like a leaf arrowhead or some like this simple utilitarian thumbnail scraper. I found it on a walk across the Cotswolds and 10,000 years disappeared as I felt it fit my hand and understood its purpose. I added a wire fastener to attach it to my key ring and I still use it to cut string or open cellotaped boxes and, when I do, I am still aware of this objects place in the ascent of man though the use of technology.
