Shillelagh owned by Daniel O"Connell the Irish Liberator. He was an important leader in the movement for Catholic Emancipation and in repealing the Act of Union. The shillelagh was as characteristic to him as a cigar was to Winston Churchill. It was left to my grandmother by his niece. O'Connell Street in Dublin is named after him.
