This beautiful serpentine fronted commode, the original French name for a chest of drawers, dates from approximately 1775 and is on loan from the Holburne Museum of Art, Bath. It has an elegant serpentine front, is mahogany, cross banded with four drawers, two short and two long and has original oval brass Adam back plates and drop handles.
