Egyptian Mummy

Contributed by Haslemere Museum

4.Our Egyptian mummy was given to us by the Sunday School Society in 1912. We know very little about him but x-rays taken during the 1960s show he was a young man in his 20s, who had suffered with injuries to his jaw, ribs and thumb. He came to us in only his inner bandages so has no amulets or other personal adornments; this also allows us to see his toes. The coffin accompanying him belonged to a man named Pa-Er- Abu who was possibly a priest.
