This is a commemorative jug from Warwick Castle, and was made by Adams. It used the Jasparware technique that was initiated by Wedgwood, and imitated by Adams. This fine grained, unglazed type of stoneware was developed by Josiah Wedgwood in 1775, and its name originates from a type of stone, jasper, that is particularly hard.
