This Petter engine is a one and a half HP Type A. It was made in Staines, Middlesex in 1932 and drives the Lister Water pump pictured. It was once the source of power for sheep shearing, sawing wood and milking machines etc. It supplied power before the days of electric motors. It was saved from being scrapped when Jeffrey Pedlar bought it from a farmer at Withiel in Cornwall and restored it.
