Stained glass window from the Socialist Institute, Vernon Street, Nelson, Lancashire; This window was commissioned by the Nelson branch of the Independent Labour Party (ILP), formed in 1893. It was one of the first branches in the country and became the second largest. The window was one of a pair above the main entrance. They stood under a stone beam with the slogan 'Socialism Our Hope' written on it. The second window is displayed at Clarion House, Newchurch-in-Pendle, Burnley.
