A Sheave Sheel is a cable winding wheel for use in mining, raising and lowering items to the surface. Not known where it was made. It was originally used in South Africa but returned for use in South Crofty mine in Redruth, Cornwall. This was one of the last tin mines to close in the county. Then bought and restored by Simpsons Plant Hire in Cornwall and donated by Westward buuilding Services to the Royal Cornwall Agriculatural Association headed by Chris Riddle.
