My friend who sadly passed away in 1994 left me this in his will. A young Arab boy in Babylon gave him this as a gift years ago. It is a terracotta figure which dates back to the period following the conquest of Mesopotamia by Alexander the Great(356 to 323 BC). Many have been found at sites in Iraq, especially Selucia on the Tigris which is quite close to Babylon. The figure is carrying its own head, replicating Nemean Lion, the first of the so-called labours of Heracles. (J Turner)
