This piece of pottery was found at Petra in Jordan as it's colour is the same pinky brown as the wonderful buildings at Petra, it was probably made there. It's a small pottery vessel of thin clay with a delicate base. It may have been used as a small offering vessel, possibly for holding incense oil as it's small enough to fit in the palm of the hand. The pot could be as much as 4000 years old and as Petra was at the centre of the incense trade around this time, it's a good guess that is what it was used for. The ground in Petra is littered with pieces of pottery etc and this was picked up by Lydia on her travels there over 20 years ago.
