The earthenware pot mole trap is based on the ones used since Roman times. Designed so the mouse would fall into the trap. In the background ofhte picture is a metal trap which was made by a Cornish farmer called Mr Lawry. Metal traps date back to the 1700s. Jeff Nicholls bought it from a collector.
