Bohemian Plate

Contributed by Antiques Roadshow - Beverley

The stamp on this plate is 'Pirkenhammer, 2682', so this plate probably originated from the factory of this name, which was founded in early 1800s in Bohemia, now situated in the Czech Republic. The company is now Russian-owned and prides itself on producing chip-resistant hotel ware. In 1911, Pirekenhammer produced the plates that were taken on the doomed Titanic.
