This childs' bath is made of tin and would have been filled by jugs or pitchers. It's likely it would have been positioned in front of the fire. Baths weren't taken that often, sometimes less than once a week. They took a long time to fill as there was no piped water or taps. The oldest children of the family wouldhave been bathed first and the baby last. The water wouldhave been pretty dirty by then.
